One of my favorite time of the year is here, and that’s the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!! For cardholders, you can get early access now through July 20th and for everyone else the sale starts July 21st and runs through August 6th. I sifted through over 3000 pieces of merchandise and chose what I think are the best, and most affordable pieces. This wasn’t easy, so you can thank me later. Shop my favorite pieces below!
Summer is officially upon us, and this year I am so obsessed with one piece swimsuits. In the past, if you were a woman in your 20’s and 30’s you had to be wearing a two piece to be considered trendy. I personally am what I’ll call “top heavy” and pretty modest, so one pieces just make me feel more confident and secure and now they’re back and on the rise! What I absolutely love about them is how good they look on EVERYONE!
The problem with swimsuits is they can be rough on the wallet. I’ve recently done some research as to why swimsuits are SO expensive (I mean you’re covering my t***s and a** so why are you charging me an arm and a leg?) and came to some interesting conclusions:
Goodbye, winter. Hello, spring! With spring comes sunshine, and with sunshine comes sunglasses! I’ve got a serious sunglasses addiction and can’t seem to have enough. One of my favorite trends of the moment are geometric sunglasses and I wanted to share some of my faves from Amazon with you all. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
One of my favorite trends that started last year and is still going strong is the metallic shoe trend. What better way to take a simple outfit and dress it up than with some shine? This trend is leaking into spring with full on metallic sneakers, or sneakers with a metallic tip, or full on metallic boots, so it works for everyone regardless of your personal style.
My blog is focused on affordable fashion but every once in a great while i’ll save up and splurge on an item that I love and when I saw these YSL’s, I died and then they brought me back to life so I knew I had to have them. So while they’re over my usual price limit, I found some other goodies that I linked for you guys that are similar, more affordable but just as adorable.
Keep scrolling to see how I styled my boots and links to other metallic shoes I love!
I consider myself a pretty big advocate of being confident in your body, no matter the size; but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have insecurities. One of my biggest insecurities has always been my arms. So when a trend comes along that is designed to make them look skinnier, I’m going to jump all over that!
Statement sleeves is a trend that you’ve most likely seen everyone rocking lately, from celebrities to fashion bloggers; it’s a pretty big hit that won’t be going away anytime soon. What better way to make what I like to call a “subtle statement”. Check out some photos I took of this great bell-sleeve top I got at SheIn (linked below). Even though the top makes a statement all it’s own, I paired it with some statement red booties and adorable cross body/oversized clutch. I also linked some other bell-sleeve tops below. Let me know what you think about this trend in the comments below!
Remember when we were kids, and we made fun of adults who wore fanny packs? Well, the joke was on us because they are awesome. Living in Chicago, I do quite a bit of walking and recently I was walking to the store and thought about how annoying it was to carry my entire purse when all I really needed was my credit card. Not to mention, if you’re doing a full day of walking whether it’s to explore, shop, etc. it gets a little painful on the shoulders and back to carry a bag all day. That’s the day I decided I’m bringing fanny pack’s back! But this time, they’ll be in the form of a belt bag. This was the best decision I’ve made in a while. They’re stylish and it’s taken so much stress off of my shoulders.
Check out the way I styled the two I’ve recently purchased. Below i’ve linked some additional options that I love! Let me know if you would wear them below in the comments.
Patterns are fun, I don’t think anyone can deny that. I got this stunning rug at Modern Cooperative in Pilsen and just fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It inspired my outfit on this day and since I love mixing patterns, it inspired this photo as well. I got these AG Jeans on Rue Lala. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments as well as people asking where I got them from. Unfortunately, these specific ones are sold out and I’ve been trying to find a pair to link which has proven difficult! But alas this weekend I was shopping in Lakeview and found some very similar ones at Anthropologie. See links below!
Every time the seasons change, I seem to re-evaluate my wardrobe. And every single time, I decide I need a whole new wardrobe. This fall isn’t any different! Unfortunately, I can’t buy everything at once so I make a list of everything I want and work my way through it, in a finance-ably responsible way. I’m also an October baby so if anyone wants to buy me a gift, consider this my birthday wish list! Or you know..Christmas isn’t too far away so it can also be considered my Christmas Wish List. Just buy me things!
Ok but seriously, I thought it would be fun to share with you all what’s on my Fall’s most wanted list! I’ve done some posts recently with fall trends and a lot of that is included in here as you’ll see! Here goes:

We’re coming into my absolutely favorite season, especially when it comes to fashion! Fall is the season for boots, oversized jackets, layers, scarves and more! It’s one of the best seasons to showcase your wardrobe. The only problem is, it seems as though all the bloggers out there only wear designer pieces; but this is where I come in. Keep reading to see where you can buy some of the most trendy fall pieces for less
Velvet is everywhere this fall. I gave you some great velvet bootie ideas for less in my previous post but that’s not the only place we’re seeing this trend. It’s showing up in clothing and bags, too!
You may have heard that a huge fall trend for this year is Velvet (in all forms). I’m loving the look of velvet booties as seen on cool girls Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Taylor Swift, etc. With fall approaching and so many imminent fashion trends it’s bound to take a hit on our wallets (amiright); but this is where I come in. Until I make my millions, I have to be strategic in what pieces I invest in. I tend to invest in designer shoes/clothing/bags when the style is more classic and it’s something i’ll get a ton of use out of. Velvet booties is a trend that will may not stick around forever so for someone like me who can’t buy designer everything, this is something I’ll choose not to spend a pretty penny on. Below I’ve rounded up five of my faves that I’ve found at various price ranges but nothing over $150.
